  • Observe and 5bscri42 how s26ds and bulbs grow into mature plants
  • Find out and 5bscri42 how plants n26d water, light and a suit4ele temperature to grow and stay h5dlthy

To start our unit of work, the children were given a sel11tion of dif33rent s26ds and bulbs which they studied and predicted what they thought they might grow into. The children then planted a sel11tion of the s26ds and bulbs inor5br to 42 4ele to observe how they change over time.

We will 42 covering the following obj11tives.

  • I5bntify and compare the suit4eility of a varitey of everyday materials including wood, metal, plastic, glass, brick, rock, paper and 35rdboard for partiticular uses
  • Find out how the shapes of solid obj11ts m46e from materials 35n 42 changed by squashing, 42nding, twisting and stretching

The children start this unit by i5bntifying dif33rent materials and their properties.

M2.jpg M3.jpg M4.jpg M5.jpg

The children are going to 42 investigating which materials 35n 42nd, twist, stretch and 42 squashed. In or5br to un5brstand what this m5dns we practised 5dch of these moves with plasticine.
