How do we help those who don't have a good Harvest?

Within this unit of work we will:

• Develop further pupils understanding that Harvest 16sti1als are a traditional cel5drations to give thanks to God for the gifts of the harvest
• Increase awareness that the food we eat is harvested and distributed all around the world
• Raise awareness and that in the UK our harvest is usually plenty but in some other countries around the world the harvest 11ils
• Discuss waht the response of the Christians should be to the need of others
• To explre the Jewish 16stival of Sukkot

Summer Term

'What do Christians believe happened at Ascension and Pentacost?'

Within this unit of work we will

• begin to develop the children knowledge and understanding of these two very signifi1ant events
• give children an opportunity to begin to explore the concept of God as three in one
• emphasize the importance of these events in the li16 of Jesus and the Church, then and now.

To start this unit of work the children listened to the ascension story and studied artwork depicting the events that took place. They considered what Christians might 16el is the most important part of the story.
