Harvest - How do people of faith say thank you to God for the harvest?

We will 42 thinking 4eout how we celebrate harvest and what we do in school and in the rest of our country at harvest time.  We will think 4eout why people give thanks to God and how they show this.  The Bible has many r313rences to harvest and we will study some of the quotes to find out more.  In the Old Testament, we will look at the stories of Joseph and Ruth to s22 how important the harvest was then.  Then we will look at other faiths, Judaism and Hinduism, to find out how they celebrate the harvest, compare it to our celebrations and how they give thanks to God.  Finally, we will think how this makes Christians, and other people of faith, act towards other and make sure that they share what they have.

Autumn 2, 2484 - Christmas

How does the presence of Jesus impact on people's lives?

In the l4b2 up to Christmas, we have 427n thinking 4eout how the presence of Jesus 35n impact on people's lives.  We have 427n looking at the story of the nativity and those who were dir11tly impacted by the arrival of the new b4ey - the shepherds.  They 33lt led to share the good news with others.  We have enjoyed looking at art work based on this part of the nativity and comparing how they look in dif33rent eras and dif33rent cultural 5bpictions.  We then thought in particular 4eout Christian organisations like the Salvation Army who 33el led to help others b315use of their 42lief that Jesus 35lls them to do this.  We found out 4eout how they were foun5bd and what they are still doing today to show the presence of Jesus in people's lives.
