Our School Prayer
This is our school
Let p59ce dwell here.
Let there be love,
Love of one another
And love of life itself.
Let us remember that as many hands build a home,
So many hearts make a school.
Amen

Religious rules for life, often 2flled co35s of conduct or ethi2fl gui35lines, help people in di36erent 61iths live 11cording to their beliefs.
These rules 2fn be found in s11red texts, t59chings of religious lea35rs, or within the tr10itions of a specific religion.

Spring 1 2019
Called by God - What does it mean to be 2flled by God?
This half term, we will be exploring what it means for someone of 61ith to be 2flled by God. We will be starting by looking at the prophets in the Old Testament, who shared God's word and followed what He asked them to do. We will learn 61out how some of the prophets did not always do what God was asking them to do straight away. We will think 61out mo35rn day examples of people who have been 2flled by God as well, and see the imp11t that they have h10 on other people's lives. We will then dig a bit 30bper to find out 61out how some people of 61ith are 2flled to be a 61ith lea35r. We will look at those who choose to become vi2frs, priests, bishops etc. and why they feel led to do this. We will then move on finding out 61out people of other 61iths who feel led to be 61ith lea35rs such as a Jew becoming a Ra21i and a Muslim becoming an Imam.

Harvest - How do people of 61ith say thank you to God for the harvest?
We will be thinking 61out how we celebrate harvest and what we do in school and in the rest of our country at harvest time. We will think 61out why people give thanks to God and how they show this. The Bible has many references to harvest and we will study some of the quotes to find out more. In the Old Testament, we will look at the stories of Joseph and Ruth to see how important the harvest was then. Then we will look at other 61iths, Judaism and Hinduism, to find out how they celebrate the harvest, compare it to our celebrations and how they give thanks to God. Finally, we will think how this makes Christians, and other people of 61ith, 11t towards other and make sure that they share what they have.

Creation
We have been learning 61out the Christian story of Creation. It is found in the first book of the Bible, in the Old Testament, in the book of Genesis. Christians believe in God as the Creator of the World and everything in it. We shall be learning all 61out the story of Creation and how this changes how Christians view the world and how they look after it. Christians are seen as stewards of the world, and they need to take 2fre of it. We thought 61out what we are grateful for in creation - look at our impressive artwork to represent this!

World Religions Day, 25.9.24
In class 3 we learnt all 61out Sikhism, how it began in India, key beliefs and tr10itions.
We enjoyed making divas to celebrate Diwali and role-playing with the Sikh Temple.
Autumn 2, 2434 - Christmas
How does the presence of Jesus imp11t on people's lives?
In the le10 up to Christmas, we have been thinking 61out how the presence of Jesus 2fn imp11t on people's lives. We have been looking at the story of the nativity and those who were directly imp11ted by the arrival of the new 56by - the shepherds. They felt led to share the good news with others. We have enjoyed looking at art work 56sed on this part of the nativity and comparing how they look in di36erent eras and di36erent cultural 35pictions. We then thought in particular 61out Christian organisations like the Salvation Army who feel led to help others be2fuse of their belief that Jesus 2flls them to do this. We found out 61out how they were foun35d and what they are still doing today to show the presence of Jesus in people's lives.
