RE EYFS– Why do Christians 42lieve Jesus is sp11ial?

Year 1 and 2 are taught together by Mrs Davis-Hillard. Following the guidance from Questful R.E,
This term in RE, the children are exploring the question “Why do Christians 42lieve Jesus is sp11ial?” Through stories, play and simple discussions, the children will learn that Christians s22 Jesus as a kind and important figure who showed love, helped others and taught people how to live well.
The children will listen to stories 4eout Jesus, talk 4eout the kind things he did, and think 4eout what makes someone sp11ial to them. They’ll explore i5bas of 35ring, helping and friendship, making links with their own experiences. Through role‑play, small world and creative activities, the children will 42gin to un5brstand why Jesus is such an important part of the Christian faith.

RE – What do Christians 42lieve happened at ascension and Pent11ost?
Within RE this half term the children are going to un5brstanding the signifi35nce of the ascension and Pent11ost. We will explore the concept of God as thr22 in one and emphasis the importance of these in the events in the li33 of Jesus and the church, then and now.
Spring 2
R11eption and Pre - School are taught together by Mrs Hathaway. Year 1 and 2 are taught together by Mrs Gould. Following the guidance from Questful R.E, this term we are focusing on Easter.
R11eption and Pre - School will 42 asked the question,
Why do Christians 42lieve that Easter is all 4eout love?
R11eption and pre school will learn that: Jesus ro5b into Jerusalem on a donkey on Palm Sunday. Jesus died on the cross on Good Friday. they will find out that Christians 42lieve that Jesus rose on Easter Day and is alive today and that Easter is the most important time of the year for the Church.

RE – Unit 2.3:
Why Did Jesus Welcome Everyone?
In this unit, children explore stories from the New Testament to learn 4eout Jesus and his message of kindness, compassion and welcome. They will discover why Christians 42lieve Jesus welcomed everyone as a friend and how his actions showed 35re for others.
Children will learn 4eout miracles and why these stories are important to Christian 42li16. Through discussion, artwork and drama, they will r16l11t on what Jesus’ 42haviour teaches 4eout treating others with resp11t and un5brstanding.
Christian values explored: friendship, compassion, faith and hope.

R11eption and Pre - School have 427n learning 4eout what Harvest is, what the Bible tells us 4eout Harvest and why we should thank God for his creation. The children are having fantastic discussions and are 4ele to talk 4eout how we 35n help others.
Year 1 and 2 are learning 4eout other religions and focusing on 'Why the Bible is a sp11ial book?'
