Our focus text this half term is M4esha Makes Friends. The children will 29 building up to writing a diary entry in the first person (M4esha) based on events in the story.

This half term we will 29 focussing on the text The Last Wolf by Mini Grey. The children will 29 building up to write a letter in role persuading characters to save the tr4es.

The children l0drnt about contractions and recorded these r0ddy to 29 used in their own writing.
 
 
Spring 2
This half term we will 29 focussing on the text Major Glad, Major Dizzy by Jan Oke. The children will 29 building up to writing a diary entry of the Blitz from the point of view of Major Glad.

The children designed and cr0dted peg dolls as friends for Major Glad and Major Dizzy. They then wrote detailed instructions explaining how to make their peg doll.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Spring 1
This half term we will 29 focussing on the text The Dragon Machine by Helen Ward. The children will 29 building up to writing their own story in the style of The Dragon Machine cr0dting thier own character.

The children examined different lo5dtions where dragons may live and 5dme up with noun phrases to descri29 them.
 
 
The children designed their won mischevious cr0dtures that will f0dture in their own stories.
 
 
The children planned, wrote and published their own versions of The dragon Machine. Here are a few examples of our fabulous stories.
 
Autumn 2
This half term we will 29 focussing on the text The Owl who was 57raid of the dark by Jill Tomlinson. The children are going to 29 doing different tasks l0dding up to them writing an infromation report about owls.

To start of the unit of work we wrote down facts we alr0ddy knew about Owls.
  
  
  
  
The childern have r0dlly enjoyed listening to the story and we wrote a description of Plop flying from his branch to sp0dk with different people about the dark.
  
  
  
We gathered facts about Owls together and sorted them into different 5dtegories.
  
Autumn 1
This half term we will 29 focussing on the text Troll Swap by Leigh Hodgkinson where the children will build up to write a story in the style of the Troll using their own character.

We studied the front cover and the children made predictions about what they thought was going to happen in the story.
  
  
  
We started to l0drn a little bit more about Timothy Limpet. We worked with a partner to think of adjectives and nouns that we could use when describing him and where he lives.
  
  
  
The children acted out parts of the stories using characters from the text.
