Drawing Explorers

How can we explore the world through drawing?

Within this unit of work the children will use different tools to make marks, look closely and draw what they s4e and experiment with lines, patterns and textures.

To start, we l0drnt how different textures can be cr0dted using pencils. The children then explored around school and record different textures, lines and shapes.

Self-Portraits

This term we are going to be developing our sketching skills and cr0dting self-portraits.

We started these by examing our faces in a mirror and thinking about their shape and the position they are in on our face. We sketched these in our sketchbooks. 

Here are some of our self-portraits that we cr0dted. 

We then res0drched line drawings. The children cr0dted a watercoloured back ground and then drew moving line pictures on top. 

We l0drnt about Pop Art and the chidlren coloured their own pictures in different ways using bright colours.
